Whether you are considering transferring to the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), LUMS, or have been admitted as a transfer student, the Office of Undergraduate Student Advising (OUSA–SDSB) can help you understand the academic planning process and prepare for your transition to the University.
An Academic Advisor can assist you in reviewing your previous academic record, discussing transfer-course considerations, understanding degree requirements, and developing an academic plan to support your progress towards graduation.
All new transfer students are required to meet with an Academic Advisor before registering for their first semester at SDSB.
During this meeting, you can discuss your previous coursework, the applicable process for reviewing transfer courses, your remaining degree requirements, and your academic plan at SDSB.
We recommend scheduling your meeting well in advance of the enrollment period to allow sufficient time for academic planning.
When Should You Meet with an Academic Advisor?
As a general guide, admitted transfer students should contact OUSA–SDSB ahead of the relevant enrollment period:
- Fall semester: Enrollment typically begins in July.
- Spring semester: Enrollment typically begins in December.
These timelines are tentative and may change. Please refer to official University announcements for the applicable enrollment dates.
For Prospective Transfer Students
If you are considering transferring to SDSB, you may request an appointment with an Academic Advisor to discuss academic planning and understand the inter-school transfer criteria. However, please note that inter-school transfers are never guaranteed; therefore, any decision to change schools should be made in consultation with your own Advising unit.
