Faculty Advisors
Who We Are
Faculty Advisors are SDSB faculty members who provide students with individualized academic guidance and support beyond the classroom. Through the Undergraduate SDSB Faculty Advisement Program (FAP), sophomore and junior students have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with faculty members to explore their academic interests, reflect on their undergraduate experiences, and make informed decisions about their academic and professional goals.
Faculty Advisors bring specialized knowledge and expertise in their respective academic areas, including Accounting and Finance (ACF) and Management Science (MGS). They can help students explore opportunities within their areas of interest and gain insights into academic pathways, undergraduate research, internships, further education, and career prospects.
How We Can Help You
Faculty Advisors can provide guidance on a range of topics, including:
- Academic interests, major-related decisions, and course planning
- Effective learning strategies, time management, and navigating university life
- Undergraduate research opportunities, independent study, and senior projects
- Internships, exchange programs, and study-abroad opportunities
- Graduate studies and career exploration
- Academic and professional development beyond graduation
Faculty advising is intended to complement the support provided by the Office of Undergraduate Student Advising (OUSA–SDSB) and help students make the most of their undergraduate experience.
Scheduling an Appointment
As part of the Faculty Advisement Program, SDSB sophomores are required to attend a one-on-one Mandatory meeting with their assigned Faculty Advisor during the Fall semester, while SDSB juniors are required to attend a one-on-one Mandatory meeting during the Spring semester.
Students are responsible for contacting their assigned Faculty Advisors to request a meeting and coordinate a mutually convenient time within the announced program timeline. Where Faculty Advisors have designated office hours for advising, students are encouraged to schedule their meetings accordingly.
To request an appointment with a Faculty Advisor, please email undergradadvising.sdsb@lums.edu.pk. Please mention the purpose of your meeting and follow the email communication guidelines before sending your appointment requests.
