Communication and Presentation Tutors

Zannirah Rehman
Management Sciences Junior

Hi! I’m Zannirah Rehman, a junior majoring in Management Sciences, and I’m excited to be serving as a Comm Tutor this year. I understand that communication at SDSB, whether it involves speaking up in class, organising your thoughts clearly, or presenting in front of an audience, can feel daunting at first. Through my experience in various public speaking spaces, including the LUMS HNMUN travelling team, I have learned that confidence and effective communication grow through preparation, practice, and the right support. As your Comm Tutor, I hope to create a friendly and judgement-free space where you can work on structuring your ideas, improving your delivery, preparing for presentations, and becoming more comfortable expressing yourself. I look forward to helping you develop a communication style that feels confident and authentic to you.

Basim Ali Abbas
Management Sciences Junior

Hi everyone! I'm Basim, a junior majoring in Management Science. One thing I've come to appreciate during my time at LUMS is that communication isn't just about giving presentations. It's part of almost everything we do, whether that's speaking up in class, working through group projects, interviewing for societies and internships, or simply having the confidence to share your ideas.

I've been fortunate to get involved in different societies, internships, and student initiatives over the past two years, and every experience has taught me something new about communicating with confidence. More importantly, I've learned that there's no such thing as being a "natural" communicator. It's a skill that grows with practice, feedback, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.

As your Communication and Presentation Tutor, I hope to create a space where you feel comfortable asking questions, practicing, and improving without worrying about getting everything perfect. Whether you're preparing for a presentation, trying to participate more confidently in class, or getting ready for a society or internship interview, I'm always happy to help. Looking forward to meeting you all and being a part of your LUMS journey!
