Hey future Luminities!
Welcome to LUMS! I’m Merwa Zahid, your PAL and a Management Science Junior at SDSB. If you are feeling a little overwhelmed right now, don’t worry, we have all been there. But trust me, it’s completely normal to feel a bit lost in the beginning.
Over time, you’ll settle in and find your place, and LUMS will start to feel like a second home. As a junior, I’m already dreading the day I have to say goodbye. It’s crazy how fast time flies. One day you will look back and realize how much you have grown, both personally and professionally. And, as cliché as it may sound, your university years really will be some of the most fun and formative times of your life.
And the best part is, you are not alone in this! LUMS has a ton of support services available, from instructors who genuinely care, to offices and other support services, to peers who are more than happy to help you out. Feeling lost? Just ask! Whether it’s academic advice, campus resources, or just a friendly face to talk to, almost everyone here is willing to lend a hand. The key is to reach out.
Balancing academics, social life, and extracurriculars seems to be a struggle? Been there, done that! It is all about learning to juggle (and sometimes dropping the ball, which is totally fine).
You are going to adjust, make lifelong friends, and discover things about yourself you never knew. And guess what? I’m here to help you along the way, whether it’s navigating academics or just having a random chat about the best pasta on campus. Let’s make this journey a great one together!
Looking forward to meeting you and being a part of your LUMS adventure!

To the class of 2028, welcome to LUMS!
My name's Rafay, I'm an MGS Senior who loves Music, Motorsports, and helping my juniors! I won't go on about who I am and what I do but focus more upon what's in store for you in the coming years.
First of all, give yourself a pat on the back and be proud for making it this far. Getting into LUMS is no joke, it's one of the most prestigious places you could've been! The next 4 years are bound to be a typhoon of emotions. You'll learn to live, laugh, cry, and so much more!
In retrospect, LUMS has given me a taste of what professional life looks like, helped me make friends with some of the best people I've met, guided me in figuring out who I am - but most importantly - it has helped me become a better human. And now, it's time for you to experience all that and much more!
You'll find that LUMS provides an exceptionally nurturing environment. There are incredible opportunities to polish your skills both socially and professionally. Be sure to take advantage of these! And if you ever find yourself struggling and need a little helping hand, I'm always here! 🙂

Hello and Asalamwalikum!
My name is Muhammad Yahya. I am currently an Accounting & Finance senior at SDSB. The past three years of my life have been incredible at LUMS. I have had so many amazing experiences and met so many excellent people. My years at LUMS have significantly transformed in me into the person I am today.
Now that you have joined LUMS. You are part of a large network of students and alumni that are located all over the world. Wherever life takes you, you will encounter someone from LUMS and that bond will take you very far in life. My biggest advice to all incoming students would be to network as much as possible. Always be open to conversation and embody empathy as a key principle in life.
Make academics a top priority, however never let it be your only priority. Have a good time, make friends, do things, and live a full life, that is what the LUMS experience is all about.
- Ammad Bin FarazSenior - BSc. (Honors) Accounting & FinanceAmmad Bin FarazSenior - BSc. (Honors) Accounting & Finance
Hello! Congratulations and welcome aboard, first-years! I bet you have an influx of various emotions, just like I had 3 years ago. But fret not! Because you can count on me to help you through it. You will learn and get exposed to so much in these 4 years that you’ll become the best version of yourself.
I am Ammad Bin Faraz, a Senior majoring in Accounting & Finance at SDSB. I plan to minor in Computational Finance and become a CFA. I have always believed in the power of kindness and empathy, so I have been a part of the LUMS Community Service Society for 2 years with the sole aim of making a difference in this world. Currently, I’m the President of the LUMS Finance Society - FINTRA. While everything may seem daunting initially, getting into and graduating from SDSB will be the best thing you can do for your career. Rest assured, as your PAL, I will be there to guide you, help you throughout your first year, and make sure that you settle well in the fast-paced environment of LUMS. Don’t doubt yourself or your capabilities if you struggle more than your peers; everyone takes their time to figure things out. My job is to ensure you transition smoothly from high school to university life. You’ll have a mounting list of questions, and I’d be there to clarify them so that your LUMS journey gets a bit less hazy and misty.
All the formal things aside, I love getting to know people and their stories because every person is a set of unique, incredible stories; you are so much more than just your transcript! You’ll often find me roaming around the campus, getting cardamom tea from Khoka, or doing small talk with ‘everyone’ along the way (my friends claim I know ‘everyone’). From movies and shows to pop music and Hollywood gossip – feel free to talk to me about anything and everything anytime. Remember to always hold your head up, never sell yourself short, always stay true to yourself, give yourself credit for the good you do, be open to new ideas and opinions, welcome criticism, and respect everyone regardless of their personal choices. These things will take you to new heights within and outside LUMS. Best of luck for this journey, which will make you feel like Augustus Waters on ‘a rollercoaster that only goes up’!

Congratulations on making it to the LUMS Batch of 2028!
From this moment onward, you are going to be as happy, free, confused, and lonely as one can get. My role as your Peer Advisor will be to make sure that you always have someone to depend on so your transition into LUMS is as smooth as possible. Whether you need academic advice, or you are struggling socially, or even if you just had a couple of bad days, I will be there for you! When I came to LUMS three years ago, I looked at all the confident, sure, and energetic university Juniors and Seniors doing great things and wondered if I would be able to get there in such a short time. Now I am a Senior who'll be graduating soon and have had the best time at LUMS.
There will be hard days, but trust me when I say this: please live in the moment and give things time, and you will make some of the most magical memories of your life. University life is so much more than making it to the Dean’s Honor List, it is about learning and growing as a human being and to sometimes just take a moment to breathe.
I absolutely love helping other people, and I am a hostelite, so please feel free to stop by whenever you see me. Really looking forward to meeting all of you and to assist you this year!

Hi everyone. Congratulations on making it to the LUMS Class of 2028! I'm a junior at SDSB majoring in Management Science and (hopefully) minoring in Computer Science.
All of you have had a very different journey of getting to LUMS, but the one piece of advice that applies to all of you is that regardless of how you got here, know that this experience will be what you make of it, so try and make the most of it. Some of you may not be the most excited about the next 4 years, but as cliche as it is, everything happens for a reason, and you will eventually grow to love LUMS for the wonderful community that it is, as so many people have before you.

Hello Class of 2028!
Welcome to LUMS, where adventure, challenges, and tons of fun await! I’m Muskan, a junior at SDSB majoring in Management Science with a side quest in Computer Science, and your go-to Peer Ambassador. When I’m not buried in textbooks, you’ll probably find me creating magic in the Media Arts Society, hanging with friends, or helping someone figure out life here at LUMS with a smile (because, trust me, a smile goes a long way!).
Now, let’s face it—there will always be something to stress about here. Whether it’s battling Zambeel, navigating society sign-ups, or surviving back-to-back deadlines, LUMS keeps you on your toes! But hey, think of it as a crash course in being awesome under pressure. And remember, I'm here if you need a guide, a meme, or just someone to chat with.
LUMS is your chance to explore, grow, and transform. From chai breaks with friends that turn into deep life talks, to those epic moments in societies where creativity takes over, every experience here is a building block for your journey. Just make sure when you graduate, you leave with more than a degree—stories, friendships, and zero regrets.
Professors here? They’re like Jedi masters, molding you into a pro. And while the workload may hit like a bouncer in cricket, your friends and late-night study marathons will help you hit it out of the park. So laugh loud, study hard, and soak in every moment.
And if you ever need advice or just a break from the chaos—find me! I’m always up for a chat or a little fun around campus.

A warm welcome to the LUMS family, Batch of '28!
I’m Areha Nawaz, a junior majoring in Management Sciences, and I couldn’t be more excited to join you on this incredible journey. Like many of you, I stepped into LUMS with a head full of dreams, uncertainties, and excitement. Looking back on the past few years, I can tell you that this experience is truly life changing. It will be challenging at times, no doubt, but every obstacle will shape you in ways you can't yet imagine.
Over these years, I've grown as a person, a student, and even a professional. LUMS has a way of pushing you out of your comfort zone; whether it’s through the societies you join, the leadership roles you take on, or the lifelong friendships you make. I’ve been involved in a lot, but what sticks with me the most is how the people here became my support system, the campus became my home, and the challenges became stepping stones to something bigger. Trust me, the difficult days are as valuable as the good ones, because they’ll show you just how resilient you are.
As you begin this journey, remember to take everything one day at a time. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of classes, events, and responsibilities, but don’t forget to breathe and enjoy the little moments. You’ll find people who will become like family, professors who will leave a lasting impact, and experiences that will shape you in ways you never expected.
I’m thrilled to be your PAL and to support you every step of the way. Whether you need advice, a listening ear, or help navigating anything, I’ll be here. Welcome to what will soon feel like your second home; I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish!"

A little about me, I am an accounting enthusiast with an underlying interest in psychology.
