I Surhaan Qadir, am a senior student in Suleman Dawood School of Business. Now that the word “senior” has been mentioned, I realize that merely 12 months remain for me to augment my educational journey that has initiated at LUMS. With such nostalgia and much more warmth, I welcome the batch of 2022 in AACSB accredited business school of LUMS. Being your peer advisor, I would give you one simple tip to make the most out of your time during the upcoming four adventurous years; live in the moment. Always. Surmount one peak at a time you will surely reach up to the stars. As a part of the student body at LUMS and an Executive Council member at LUMS Daily Student, I have stepped out of my comfort zone time and time again, and I advise you all to be open to face new challenges and broaden your horizon while you can through the multiple opportunities that you will get in LUMS.
While you explore yourself, it is important to identify your expertise and focus on your goals right from the beginning. Build yourself up just as you aim to be. As your Peer Advisor, I am here throughout your journey to not only help you gain academic excellence, but also to help you find your purpose and support you in your goals and the pathways you choose correspondingly. Being your Peer Mentor, I want to work for your courses, peer groups and friends which help you to adjust to the yet unfamiliar culture in LUMS. This experience will be as full of learning as it will be for you all and I hope to be your go-to person in every possible matter from adjusting in social groups to deciding courses. Rest assured, you will find a friend much more often than an advisor in me, while you buckle up and get used to the four years long, bumpy rollercoaster ride.
