Hi Everyone! As your peer advisor, I wish you all a convivial welcome to LUMS. I’m Fatima, an ACF Senior. Without doubt the past three years have been a roller coaster of an experience. Indeed, university life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There will be days which will test your strengths, break your courage and then beautifully rebuild you. At the same time this place will give you many surprises, cherishing memories and things to laugh on. Becoming a batch topper in my freshmen year was one such memorable event. This institution has not only facilitated my academic growth but has helped me become a better individual through the unparalleled society experience and diversity it offers. As a Treasurer of LUMS Society of Professional Accountancy and a Director Finance and Registrations in LUMS Daily Student I got an opportunity to not only enhance my professional but as well as soft skills. Additionally, it helped me make some lasting friendships. The rigorous academic program at SDSB prepares you and instills the drive to aspire towards new challenges every day. With the countless deadlines, LUMS taught me to become proactive and to manage my time more efficiently. I aspire to pursue a career in public policy and utilize my potential to the fullest for betterment of our community and most importantly to create an impact. Be empathetic. Have passion to make some difference and do things for others, this is what you will leave behind. Prepare yourself to be challenged, excited and inspired as LUMS offers a plethora of opportunities and facilities. Your LUMS experience will be what you make it, and your opportunities will only be limited by the limits you place for yourself. If you ever feel overwhelmed, remember we all are here to help you.
