Hello dearest freshmen, (not freshies), its about time to welcome you into the beautiful world of LUMS! I am eager to be your mentor and family away from family.
I'm currently a Junior at MGS program in SDSB who loves to travel and explore the world. I have backpack travelled Eastern Europe, went on trips with Lums, did a semester abroad as well as a volunteer abroad experiences. I have had a roller coaster journey at LUMS so far in terms of academics, socialising, and societies. I currently serve as a Junior Officer Events at a Journalism society and Director Media at a Media Arts society along with ending up on Deans Honours List of 2018. I believe in adventurous happenings, a mandatory skill to enjoy campus life. Also, I love advising my juniors and fellows.
My advice to incoming freshmen is that no matter how hard you find Lums, you eventually make your place in this world. My favourite quote says, "It’s not important to hold all the good cards in life. But it is important how well you play with the cards that you hold." This stresses on the fact that everybody has different story, and you just need to be a hero in your story. Therefore, compete healthily only. Prioritise well because CGPA, networking, grooming, communication skills, learning, and your personality are going to matter someday!
Congratulations on making it to the number one business school of Pakistan, so never forget to reflect the values this institute and student body holds dearly.
