Dear Freshmen, I am Hamza Hayat Khattak and I will be serving as your Peer Advisor for the academic year 2018-19. Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude and extend a warm welcome as you embark on this long yet enriching journey – a journey that you will cherish for the rest of your lives. I am currently a junior, majoring in Management Sciences but the memories of my O-week are still clear and vivid in my mind. LUMS, apart from academics, has been – and will always be - about self discovery! Through a constant process of self reformation throughout these years. Thus, the opportunity to help you craft a meaningful experience and to guide you to the “LUMS Life” is both an extraordinary privilege and a challenge that I relish greatly.
My life in LUMS has been multi-dimensional from the very beginning. From being called a “theeta”, to be a part of the top societies in LUMS; from being part of the LUMS rugby team, to being actively involved in the election campaigns for LUMS student council; my life at LUMS has been a mixture of ups and downs, none of which I regret. From my experience, all you need is motivation, confidence and proper guidance to have a good life in LUMS. Whilst I can assure you that everyone of us is putting in their level best to make your start to this new life as memorable (in a good sense) as possible. You are at the driving seat of your own journey! Come out of your shell to make the most of this!
