Greetings from a fellow Luminite. Not only proud but also blessed to be part of this wonderful community, I moved a few places during my life; courtesy of being the son of a retired naval officer. Hence, I was raised with a strong sense of diversity; one of the many things greatly and well so celebrated at LUMS. It’s a place where people with diverse stories from all across Pakistan come together and are offered a chance to shape the outline of the rest of their story.
Before becoming a part of LUMS Community, I did my O and A Levels from Karachi and while I am an ACF Major at LUMS, I had a science background with awards of Excellency in both Chemistry and Biology from The Lyceum School in A-level. All set to embark on the journey of the life of medicine, I had a change of heart and didn’t want to pursue something I was not passionate about and decided to come to LUMS with a completely different field of interest.
It was overwhelming and a bit intimidating, arriving in a top-notch competitive university with no prior background of the field, but trust me when I say: “It’s not impossible”. I managed to get a hang on LUMS life and it was not that hard. I have been on the DHL at LUMS for two years and I am currently Director Promotions and Publications at LUMS Entrepreneurial Society.
I quickly learned that it is only the effort you put in that matters and everything else is a distraction that causes hindrance on your road to excellence. Take your time, no matter how overwhelming it seems, you will adjust. Focus on yourself and yourself only! Put effort into what you want to be, how you want your story to be written. Balance is the key; studies, social life, rest, everything is as important as the other.

I along with my peers welcome you to LUMS. The anticipation to meet you guys is exciting.
